Conversations with fools

Just wondering... Do I actually have to think and write about "occupy" foolishness? It is a nothing movement. It is the equivalent of people complaining about the lack of wealth in their lives, while they sit around not earning it. Everyone understands this already right??? I wish Marie Antoinette were here, so she could say "let them eat cake" I would revel in hearing those words. I don't hate poor people, just wish people would accept sole responsibility for their lives.

Freedom of speech, free enterprise, freedom of religion... The most individual rights allowed the common man in any nation on earth, and yet we do not have enough, we must complain about what we are lacking. Pitiful. They deserve to die in some foriegn hole. Let america be refreshed with honest, hardworking immigrants who absolutely KNOW the value of being an american.

can't stop myself

Him: There are millions not cut out to be entrepreneurs and America is designed to protect generational wealth. What's not to get?

Me: I don't like your wording. You say people aren't cut out to be entrepreneurs. Like we aren't all made equal from the beginning. There are more amazing success stories (real life stories) that come from poverty then there are from middle class america. The difference between success and failure is largely a matter of choice. Who isn't allowed to make choices in america?

Him: You left out ability, that is not a choice sir.

Me: So what are we talking about? Handicapped persons?

Him:  i'm sure some participate, but in general i am not referring to them. i just think you're partially wrong about personal responsibility, it has its limits. many people have gone about doing the "right" thing and have nothing to show for it besides debt.

Me: Let us assume that the people who "occupy" get what they want ( and that I assume would be a redistribution of wealth). Do you think that it would take more than a generation for the money to "unevenly" balance itself out? People are financially wealthy because they have learned to respect money. "A fool and his money are soon parted"

Him: I do appreciate your world view, I just do not complain about the miniscule amount of free loaders taking advantage of society's generosity. Business is supposed redistribute income not the government.

Me: So it is our duty as responsible americans to make operating a business very easy, with little to no hassle, so that businesses can very easily redistribute wealth, in the form of good hiring policies and good tax evasion laws (like donations to charitable orginizations) and prudent import and export laws yes?

So in reality what you are saying is that this occupy nonsense does no one any good, to include the occupiers who do not understand these very simple concepts about our economy. In fact they are hurting the economy by wasting time complaining instead of producing... wouldn't you say?

Him: the occupy movement does good because people trying to do the right thing are getting the shaft due to legislation/deregulation bought by special interests.

Me: Ahh, so you think that our government is corrupt and standing around without threat of violence will change it. Once again the occupy movement is inneffective.

But worse than that, it is human nature to aggresively dominate others, a sense of pride in our nature that wants to have more power than other people. So even if you managed to overthrow the government by peaceful or aggresive coup... Eventually, because of human nature we would see corrupt actions again. The little guy gets stepped on because someone else thinks it will benefit him.

You can't write policy that will change human nature. This is how some of us behave when we are allowed freedom. Accept human nature, you can't change it

occupy = nothing

Him: i believe in the pride factor, which is the vast majority of working age people want to earn a living rather than off of the government teat. now when ultra wealthy special interests get laws passed in their favor that allow for the upward flow of resources we have a problem. i also believe in the concept of rich enough. if you're not going employ able bodied citizens then you sure as hell can make sure they have a roof, food, and clothes.

Me: It is your duty as a consumer to understand the product you are buying, to include the business ethics behind the product. The rise and fall of corporations begins with your wallet. Self responsibility.

 Him: i agree with that.

END

I did nothing to change this conversation except to correct my punctuation, which is atrocious. I also didn't include a part where he told me to go live away from civilization, as it didn't apply to the conversation.

I could analyze his foolishness in front of you, but that would be unfair, as he isn't present to defend himself.

I could even attack myself publicly (in an attempt to remain objective for his sake) for the logical traps I laid for him, which were shameless (I have no ethical qualms with destroying a fools logic) I admit. However, whoever reads this can judge for themselves the ideas that were presented here.

Still looking for that person who is more objective than me.Someone who actually makes me use this god given talent for thinking, instead of just reciting arguments to refute simple illogic. Someone I can learn from. I might be looking for giants in a field of windmills forever.
